Coming off the back of a state title win, Branxholm teenager Macenzie Kerrison has cemented her future in the show jumping ring by also winning the 1.10m championship at Chudleigh Show.
Kerrison is currently campaigning two horses, Little Porkies who she has ridden for a number of years and grey gelding Zippy who she and her father bred together.
In the championship at Chudleigh Little Porkies jumped the first round clear and had one rail down in the jump off to finish in second place.
It was young horse Zippy that brought the 1.10m win home with two double clear rounds.
“These wins mean a great deal to me coming from a small country town in the North-East and being lucky enough to travel all over Tassie to these events,” Kerrison said.
“Although winning these competitions is definitely amazing and I am very proud, what most inspires me is to grow within each horse.
“Breeding Zippy and growing up with him to now holding a state title together is pretty special.”
Kerrison said her goals this year include striving towards new heights with Zippy and bringing her new horse into work and start competing.
“I’m also on the lookout for any sponsors as the cost of owning and competing horses is quite high alongside the travelling, feed, entry fees, rugs etc – I would be very grateful to any business who would be interested in being part of my journey,” she said.
Kerrison will be competing at Exeter Show this weekend.
