Ruth reflects on life

• Aminya resident Ruth Youd offers some advice for the younger generation.

Ruth Youd has lived her 86 years throughout the North-East calling Derby, Ringarooma and Bridport home at different times before relocating to Aminya where she now resides.
Ms Youd said times have changed vastly since she was young and her advice for the younger generation of today was to get established as early on in life as they can.
When asked what she would change in her life if she could go back in time, she said should would do further study.
“I went to high school and then finished and then I was busy bringing up children. I think now days it’s more important that the young ones keep studying,” she said.
Ms Youd’s memories of her first car are a bit blurry and she doesn’t recall the brand but she said it cost around $400.
She said she has plenty of fond memories from her lifetime, with getting married and having children some of the highlights.
