Rushy sentiment sought
TasFarmers is seeking feedback from the North East community regarding the proposed sale of Rushy Lagoon, one of Tasmania’s largest farming properties.
CEO Nathan Calman said federal representatives were expected to visit Tasmania next week to discuss the potential impact of the Rushy Lagoon sale and broader foreign investment considerations.
“We are keen to ensure regional sentiment is properly represented,” Mr Calman said.
“It is important we hear directly from the community about what impact any sale, and any change in land use, may have on the agricultural sector and the wider region.”
“The sale has the potential to affect the long-term sustainability of local schools, commercial and retail businesses, support industries, employment, and the broader regional economy.”
TasFarmers encourages anyone who would like to have their say to complete the survey.
