Entrepreneurial locals shine
In a time when we’re being asked to support local small businesses as much as possible, we wanted to turn the spotlight onto some young entrepreneurs throughout the North-East who have turned their passions into a successful small business.
Many have harnessed the power of social media to promote their products and share their journey.
Here’s a snapshot of some of our local creatives' Instagram pages.
Turn the Tables furniture design, Mikayla Binns
Mikayla crafts custom made tables, desks, coffee tables, platters and chopping boards using blackwood, Tassie Oak, Black hearted sassafras and macrocarpa in Scottsdale.
You might have spotted her work at Ellesmere Patisserie and Providore, where her three tables, one bench top and one window bench are part of the beautiful décor.
Photography and videography, Nic Betts
Bridport creative Nic Betts specialises in creative videography and photography services, covering events, real estate and weddings.
With a drone and camera, Nic captures unique shots of landscapes, seascapes, animal prints and more.
His eye-catching prints are available for purchase.
Visual artist, Allie McIntee
Allie McIntee, who hails from Bridport, has found her niche in minimalist design, producing clean, monochrome line drawings.
She takes commissions and several of her pieces are for sale at Ellesmere Patisserie and Providore.
Organisation products, Jess Hughes
Scottsdale mum Jess Hughes has many skills under her belt, but her latest venture is producing pantry labels, household labels, spice jar lids and height charts.
Gone are the days of pantries in disarray and chaotic shelves, these products will help organise and beautify your home.
