Bridport’s dirty water woes
A Bridport resident got an unpleasant surprise when running a bath for her children on Sunday night, finding the bath was filled with dark brown water.
Jenna Lethborg said this is not the first time it has happened, with similar occurrences several times a month and knowledge of other residents experiencing the same issue.
A TasWater spokesperson said the water line has since been flushed out.
“TasWater was made aware of a complaint about dirty water in Bridport on [Monday] afternoon as a result of sediment accumulating in the pipework,” the spokesperson said.
“An operator did attend the property and resolved the issue.”
The spokesperson directed any residents who notice discoloured water to call their call centre immediately so the issue can be addressed.
“We ask that customers who notice their water is discoloured to immediately call the TasWater contact centre 13 6992 so a TasWater representative can respond quickly on a case by case basis.”
