A number of Dorset councillors have expressed concern over the state of the newly installed access ramp onto Croquet Lawn beach.
During Councillor question time on Monday night Cr Leonie Stein asked whether the ramp could be cordoned off. She believed that in its present condition it was dangerous.
“It should be removed and is completely wrong,” Cr Stein said.
Cr Powell supported Cr Stein’s concerns.
“The structure is too narrow, needs a rail, and is being described by local people as a ‘ski jump’,” Cr Powell said.
Mayor Greg Howard said he was confident that once a deck was attached to the ramp that it would be a satisfactory outcome.
“It is not too narrow, and is situated where users originally requested,” he said.
