Magpie auction huge success

The annual auction, Scottsdale Football Club’s major fundraising event was held on Friday evening, and it proved to be a major success.

Due to Covid-19, the event could not be held in 2020, but the club was able to organise the auction this year with some restrictions.

More than 150 items, all donated, were put under the hammer by auctioneer Cabel Hall, assisted by Geoff Lidgerwood, and the response from the guests was well beyond expectations.

More than $43,000 was raised during the night, the highlight of which was the very competitive bidding for the signed Melbourne and Richmond jumpers, the proceeds from which were donated to Pia Whelan who is undergoing major surgery.

Club president Cameron Moore thanked the guests, organisers and donors for their support.

“Our club supports an Auskick program, eight junior teams in the NTJFA, three in the NTFA, and a women’s team, and these funds will go towards funding their participation in the game we all love,” he said.
