Tenders are being invited for the replacement of the skate park on the Bridport foreshore.

Detailed designs of the new facility have been released by Dorset Council for the largely concrete structure.

Tenders for the project are due to close on July 23, but the Council’s capital works program has budgeted $350,000 for the replacement.

The change in location of the existing skate park has been on the agenda since the start of work on the Lions Adventure Playground.

The idea was to reduce the risk to children crossing the busy access to the foreshore and boat ramp, which is between the playground and present skate park.

The new skate park site is to the north of the playground between the Village Green and the road access to the Bridport Surf Clubrooms.
