Greta’s sage advice

• Greta Abraham from Aminya offers some advice for the younger generation.

Greta Abraham will be 92 in October, although she jokes that she doesn’t like to count their chickens before they hatch.
She lived most of her live at Waterhouse, where her husband was given the farm as a returned serviceman, before moving to Bridport later in her life.
Mrs Abraham now calls Aminya home.
Her advice for the younger generation is to be thankful for all you’ve got and what you’ve had in life.
She said if given the chance to go back and change one thing from her life, she wouldn’t change a thing.
Mrs Abraham said she has many fond memories from her life but one day she remembers clearly was when her husband Frank went to Launceston and bought a hand ringer washing machine for five pounds.
“I thought I was really made and I was full of happiness”.
The Advertiser has conducted a series of brief interviews with Aminya residents which will be published over the coming months.
