More than 1000 people turned out for the Dorset Christmas celebration held at the Scottsdale Recreation Ground’s hockey field on Sunday.
Organisers said they were “blown away by the support”.
With free activities and entertainment, the 39th annual gathering brought Christmas spirit to the fore.
And there are plenty of Christmas celebrations continuing this weekend.
Late night shopping takes place on Friday night with many Scottsdale businesses keeping the doors open into the evening to encourage shopping locally.
Most shops are taking part in the Lucky Shopper competition where you get an entry for purchasing items at participating stores and go into the draw to win hundreds of dollars worth of prizes donated by locals. The competition will be drawn on Monday.
You can also take part in activities to win prizes by locating the nine letters spelling Christmas that have been placed in shop fronts around Scottsdale for you to find and fill out the answers on forms available at Scottsdale Shoe Store.
Forms to fill in the locations of where Santa’s nine reindeers are hiding around Scottsdale are also available at the Cottage Bakery.
And, it’s a case of Christmas celebrations galore with events across the weekend.
On Saturday you can choose from the Friends of St Pauls Carols at Springfield from 7pm, the Ringarooma Pool Christmas Bash at the Rec Ground from 5pm or Lilydale Christmas Carols at the footy ground from 4pm.
Scottsdale Primary School will be the location for Scottsdale Community Christmas Carols, organised by Dorset Christian Leaders Network, on Sunday from 5pm with a free BBQ cooked by volunteers from the Scottsdale Lions Club.
