Call for Council candidates

Nominations have opened to fill a vacancy on Dorset Council.

Prospective new Councillors have until midday next Tuesday, August 26, to nominate for the by-election through the Tasmanian Electoral Commission.

Nominations will be announced on Wednesday, August 27 before ballot papers are delivered by post.

The compulsory poll closes on Monday, September 22 with the winning candidate to be announced on Tuesday, September 23.

The vacancy came about following the resignation of Cr James Cashion.

The successful candidate will serve until the next ordinary Council elections in September/October 2026.
