A geography task set for Bridport Primary students in grades three and four has been reproduced for people visiting the seaside town thanks to the Old Pier Apartments.
The school unit saw students complete a challenge writing about places that are special to them or that they had visited with their own family.
Teacher Natalie Brown said the work was then displayed in the classroom where it caught the eye of Colleen Barnett, part owner of the Old Pier Apartments.
“Colleen saw our work on display and asked whether our work could be showcased in the apartments, so the students set about refining their work, which was ultimately published into six laminated booklets,” Ms Brown said.
“This experience provided students with the real-life opportunity of refining and editing their work for a purpose because they had an audience who would be reading their information.”
Mrs Barnett said she was excited to put new information folders in each apartment for guests to gain knowledge about things to see and do in the local and surrounding areas.
“It’s such a professional approach and are all laminated and nicely bound,” Mrs Barnett said.
The booklets were presented to Colleen Barnett on Thursday at the school assembly.
