More than 130 people gathered at the Winnaleah Hall last Friday night to share good food and conversation in the name of charity.

The event was organised by the ‘Telita Team’ headed by the Davenport family for Relay for Life with a four course meal and auction

Auction items ranged from, bottles of wine, sides of lamb, a miniature cow, to artwork, gravel and fertiliser.

The evening was a great fundraising success, with a little over $20,000 raised to support cancer research within Tasmania.

Rosie Davenport said it is amazing how a small community can be so generous for a great cause.

“This event has been held several times now.

“The volunteers who organised auction items, prepared the food and decorated the hall were grateful for the level of support provided by the locals,” she said.

Dorset’s Relay for Life will be held in Scottsdale on February 18 if anyone is interested in putting a team together or you can just register as an individual.

This year’s event is a 12-hour event so just one day.
